NYCMIDNIGHT MICRO CHALLENGE

Well, NYC has come up with another interesting little competition aimed at driving up their membership by sponsoring a "MICRO STORY CHALLENGE"

After being assigned to a group, each group is assigned a word to include in your story. Your story must be 100 characters (that's characters- not words!) and you have 12 hours to come up with 3 teeny tiny little stories. My assigned word was "crowd".

By the way... number one has made the semi-finals and if it goes the distance I'll get to compete again next week for the finals which would be fun. That happens one day before the Flash Fiction Competition begins which is what I'm really itching to do. This is a fun little diversion though.

Below are my submissions for this competiton;

Political Satire

1.
Eyes of the crowd follow the bouncing ball. Uncle Sam gives order. Militia picks them off 1 by 1.

Comedy / Drama
2.
Hair afire, Mumbo the Clown dances what will be his last dance. Crowd laughter falls like ashes.

Historical Fiction
3.
Concert crowd ecstasy; reefer, Jack Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Plane crash-bum trip for everybody!
